The List: Chicken Nachos at Red Pepper Taqueria

This week's entry off The Creative Loafing Best Dish List was especially fun to eat because not only did the dish live up to its billing, but the location was a perfect spot for bringing the kids.  Don't all kids love Mexican food? Once I discovered the location, I couldn't believe I hadn't popped into Red Pepper Taqueria before.  The Buckhead location is on Piedmont and Peachtree, and there's one in Decatur as well. Score!

My daughter did the honors of ordering the oh-so-tasty Chicken Nachos.  Take a look at this goodness.

The assorted toppings were precisely what you'd want on your nachos: tender, well-seasoned chicken, refried black beans, pico di gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and just a smattering of jalapeno peppers.

I don't know why every Mexican restaurant hasn't pulled together a dish of equally diverse ingredients, but Red Pepper Taqueria definitely gets it right.

My daughter didn't dig the peppers or the guac, but otherwise she gave the dish an enthusiastic "peace out."

I admit, even though the nachos weren't my order, I ate more than my fair share.  I also tried the kale salad, which was served with beets!!!  You KNOW how I love beets.  Nom. Nom.

To top things off, we had a celebrity sighting while we were there when the Bumblebee Transformer showed up.Dining out doesn't get much better than this!

Enjoy your experience and keep me posted on what else I should order when I go.  We'll be making this a regular stop!
