The List: Ah-Ma
All right foodie friends - this new Best Dish List is E-X-C-I-T-I-N-G!! After just a couple of weeks into the latest adventure, I'm already finding new spots I love. Exhibit A: Ah-Ma Taiwanese KitchenI don't recall ever eating at a Taiwanese restaurant before so I was excited to check out the menu. Notice anything unusual? Pigs feet!!!
Hmmmm. My dog loves pigs feet...
I may have to try a bite when someone else orders it! As for me, I was there for the list item, the Dirty Bird Bao. The only other time I had bao (steamed buns) was from the 2013 list at Miso Izakaya and so I expected deliciousness.
Fortunately, I was not disappointed when this arrived.I realize this doesn't look like much, but the chicken is not just perfectly fried, it's perfectly topped. Imagine a bite-sized bahn mi except served in a soft bum. DEEEEELISH! Absolutely list worthy.
Of course, I couldn't leave well enough along and had to order a different, non-list bao with fried shrimp.I thought this bao was more visually appealing, but the flavor was just meh. Not bad, but not worth ordering again.
Next up was the Pho. I LOVE me some good Pho and this bowl was divine!!!The broth was richly layered, the noodles had the ideal texture, and the toppings were all of my favorites (bok choy! yay!!)
If you're in the midtown area, definitely check out this spot!
