What Happens When Death Dies?

“If Jesus rose from the dead, then you have to accept all that he said;if he didn't rise from the dead, then why worry about any of what he said? The issue on which everything hangs is not whether or not you like his teaching but whether or not he rose from the dead.” Timothy Keller

When death dies, fear disappears.

I don't know about you, but I'm interested in living a fearless life, of having no worries about death.

For me, that's only possible because I believe Easter is true; that at a specific time and place in history Jesus was crucified, died, was buried, and rose from the tomb on the third day.

In today's skeptical age, I know making  statements like that seems nuts.

I'm inclined to agree with the scholar NT Wright who says, “what we have at the moment isn't as the old liturgies used to say, 'the sure and certain hope of the resurrection of the dead,' but a vague and fuzzy optimism that somehow things may work out in the end.”

But I think Easter isn't fuzzy at all. Easter is a celebration of the death of death and the gift of grace.  Good Friday is redeemed! U2 strikes the perfect cord...

"What once was hurt What once was friction What left a mark No longer stings Because Grace makes beauty Out of ugly things"

This Easter I hope all of you know that God doesn't want something from you, but wants something FOR you...Life!

Happy Easter!
