Are you giving fear a place in your life?

Happy Monday!

Are you looking forward to the week ahead or is there something nagging at you?

What makes you afraid?

What do you worry about?

Health? Money? Relationships? Career?

Is there anything keeping you up at night?

Is the worry and fear helping or hurting your ability to function?

Truly, reality can be heavy, but it's self-destructive to borrow issues before they happen.

I love Benjamin Franklin's famous advice:

"Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight."

But what does "keep in the sunlight" mean from a practical sense? How does one actually follow this advice?

For me, it's mostly a matter of focus.

Where do I invest my mental energy?

Do I look for the best in people, circumstances, and opportunities? Or do I imagine the negative?

Do I say "yes" or "no"?

Do I anticipate what's good, or look for what's bad?

Do I choose to give fear a voice in my head?

For me, staying "in the sunlight" is deciding to walk toward the day in confidence, deciding fear will not be part of my thinking or have a place in my life.

How will you set aside fear today?
