10 Ways to Magnify Your Blessings

“If we magnified blessings as much as we magnify disappointments,we would all be much happier.” John Wooden

John Wooden has a point.

Most of the time, disappointments and frustrations take more of my emotional energy than being grateful for my blessings.  That's part of what I appreciate about Thanksgiving week;  I pause a little bit more to reflect on large and small blessings.

As I anticipated this week ("Central Coast Edition"), I came up with my "to do" list of how to embrace and magnify a few of the many ways I'm grateful.  Hopefully, some of these will overlap with you.

1. Take A Road Trip!

Don't complain about the long drive - take in the views!

2.  Keep The Bad Pictures!

Laugh

Don't delete those silly pictures where you think you look terrible.  After a few years, you'll look back and think your wrinkles weren't too bad and the laugh was worth keeping the image.

3. Hug Your Family!

Whether you live close-by or cross-country, close the gaps with hugs and grace.

4. Dog pile!

When a hug won't suffice, dog pile on the closest uncle.  Trust me, this is a blessing worth magnifying.

5. Hold Hands!

Stick together and stay friends.

6. Connect!

If you have to leave part of your family behind, check in. (Shout out to N. Ga and Charleston!)

7. Play Games

Bust out the cards, toss the frisbee, or build a fort.  Find a way to play and enjoy some laughs rather than political debates!

8. Bring the Pets!

Dogs, cats, and children should all have a seat at the bountiful Thanksgiving table!  Nothing much better than having a dog along for the day.

Eat Well

And eat pie.  Plenty of pie.

Take a Nap

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is rest.  Take full advantage of the tryptophan in your body and sleep wherever and whenever.
